The 2026 MotoGP World Championship already has a clear protagonist after the opening races: Marco Bezzecchi. The dominant victory in the Brazilian GP at Goiânia has changed the balance of the championship, putting the Aprilia rider at the top of the standings and sending a strong signal to all the competition.
But the calendar offers no break. The circus is already on its way to the United States, to the technical and spectacular Circuit of the Americas, where one of the season’s most eagerly awaited events will take place next weekend.
Bezzecchi and Aprilia: the moment of confirmation
The Brazilian success was not an isolated episode, but the latest confirmation of an extraordinary start to the season. Four consecutive victories say far more than any statistic: they speak of a complete rider, capable of combining speed, management and maturity.
Behind him remains the main challenger, Jorge Martín, while other protagonists such as Pedro Acosta and Marc Márquez are chasing with greater inconsistency.
Aprilia, for its part, seems to have found an extremely solid technical base, capable of adapting to different conditions: extreme heat, new tracks, varying grip.
MotoGP 2026 standings after the Brazilian GP
After the Goiânia race:
1st Bezzecchi — 56 points
2nd Martín — 45 points
3rd Pedro Acosta — 42 points
An important advantage, above all for consistency and solidity.
Austin, a completely different challenge
The next GP will be held in Austin, on one of the most technical tracks on the calendar. The American circuit is famous for:
steep elevation changes
heavy braking zones
quick changes of direction
Historically it has been favourable territory for Márquez, but the current moment could change the balance.

A key point of the season
Austin represents much more than a mere round.
It is the first real test after Bezzecchi’s early dominance.
If the Aprilia rider can also repeat that form on a track so different from Goiânia, then the World Championship could begin to take a clear direction.
For now, though, one certainty remains:
the benchmark in MotoGP 2026 is Marco Bezzecchi.
