Darkness, the headlights lit, the crowd in the grandstands and the bikes flying through the kerbs of Misano World Circuit. The 2026 CIV Racing Night confirmed that it is much more than a simple round of the Italian Speed Championship: it has become one of the symbolic events of the entire national motorcycle season.
The fourth round of the Dunlop CIV, held on 25 and 26 July, drew a total of 22,000 people and delivered two very different days. On Saturday evening Alessandro Delbianco and Filippo Farioli took the night races in Superbike and Supersport; on Sunday Lukas Tulovic and Lorenzo Dalla Porta responded in two dramatic races. The results were officially communicated by the CIV.
Superbike: Delbianco becomes the new king of the Racing Night
The night at Misano crowned Alessandro Delbianco. The Yamaha DMR Racing rider, on track with a celebratory livery inspired by Kenny Roberts’ historic “Yamaha Yellow”, put together an authoritative race and crossed the line with more than two seconds in hand.
The victory had a special meaning: in previous editions, the Superbike Racing Night had always been won by Michele Pirro. Delbianco thus became the first rider able to end the Ducati tester’s dominance in the most eagerly awaited race of the CIV.
Behind him Michael Ruben Rinaldi rediscovered speed and competitiveness, finishing second and setting the fastest lap in 1’36”095. Lukas Tulovic, wildcard entry fielded by BMax Racing Team Ducati, completed Saturday’s podium ahead of Samuele Cavalieri. Official report of Race 1.
Sunday, however, completely changed the script. Delbianco crashed already on the first lap, leaving the two Ducati bikes of BMax Racing Team clear air. Tulovic got the better of Rinaldi, completing a weekend as a protagonist with a victory and a third place. Luca Bernardi put Aprilia on the third step of the podium.
Despite scoring no points in Race 2, Delbianco left Misano leading the standings with 145 points, ahead of Cavalieri on 113 and Gabriele Giannini on 107.
Supersport: Farioli and Dalla Porta split the spoils
The most spectacular picture of the weekend probably came from Supersport. Under Misano’s spotlights, Filippo Farioli, Niccolò Antonelli and Lorenzo Dalla Porta staged a fierce battle, built on overtakes, crossing lines and constant changes at the front.
Farioli, present as a wildcard with the Yamaha of the D&A Racing Team, managed to come out on top ahead of Antonelli and Dalla Porta, also setting the new fastest lap of the race in 1’37”741.
Third place had already allowed Dalla Porta to take the championship lead. On Sunday the Promodriver Yamaha rider completed the job with a decisive move on the final lap, passing Farioli and taking his first win of the season.
Antonelli finished third again, while Andrea Mantovani limited the damage with fourth place after the technical issue that had sent him tumbling to thirteenth on Saturday.
Dalla Porta left Misano leading the standings with 145 points, followed by Mantovani on 132 and Matteo Patacca on 107. The title battle therefore remains wide open ahead of the next round in Cremona.
Moto3, Moto4 and Sportbike: Perez Selfa seals the double
Vicente Perez Selfa was the dominant rider in Moto3. The Spaniard from GP Project 2 Wheels PoliTO won both races, prevailing on Sunday by more than twelve seconds and also setting the fastest lap in 1’42”161. Valentino Sponga and Luca Da Dalt completed the Race 2 podium.
In Moto4 the victories were split between Stefano Salvetti and Lorenzo Fino. Salvetti took Saturday’s race after a four-rider sprint, while on Sunday Fino beat Salvetti himself at the end of another duel decided in the closing stages.
Sportbike delivered another spectacular finish. Filippo Bianchi dominated Race 1, while on Sunday Emiliano Ercolani beat him in a photo finish after a long sequence of overtakes and counter-overtakes. Mattia Martella’s disqualification for a technical irregularity then handed third place to Loris Pedrotti.
Bergamini dominates in the Lenovo V2 Future Champ Ducati Academy
Saturday’s programme also included the Lenovo V2 Future Champ Ducati Academy, the one-make trophy born from the collaboration between Ducati, Garage 51 and Michele Pirro.
Devis Bergamini completed a perfect weekend: pole position and victories in both races. On Sunday the rider from Romagna recovered after a difficult start, catching and passing championship leader Jesus Torres in the closing stages of the race.
Torres kept the lead of the standings with 156 points, but Bergamini moved to within just three. Kevin Farkas, the subject of Saturday’s photograph, finished the second race in seventh place. Official Future Champ Academy report.
Pro Honda CBR600RR Cup: Savioli dominates, Galloni steps onto the podium
In the Pro Honda CBR600RR Cup by Improve the standout rider was Edoardo Savioli. The Roman rider took pole position and the double, extending his winning streak to three consecutive victories.
In Race 1 Savioli beat Daniele Galloni and Giacomo Baratti. On Sunday Pasquale Alfano, the best of the wild cards, finished second, while Baratti beat Galloni by just 74 thousandths in the fight for third.
Thanks to the results at Misano, Savioli strengthened his lead with 107 points. Baratti moved up to second place with 62, ahead of Galloni on 60. Pro Honda CBR600RR Cup report.
Misano confirms the strength of the Racing Night
The sixth edition of the Racing Night once again showed the strength of a formula capable of combining competition, spectacle and participation. Saturday’s programme, concluded by the races under the spotlights, turned the paddock and the grandstands into a continuous event, accompanied by the support categories and the initiatives dedicated to the public.
The CIV leaves Misano with two main championships still open. Delbianco remains the benchmark in Superbike despite Sunday’s crash, while in Supersport the gap between Dalla Porta and Mantovani is just thirteen points.
The season will restart on 19 and 20 September at Cremona Circuit, before the grand finale at Vallelunga scheduled for 10 and 11 October. After a night like that, the championship enters the decisive phase with a balance that is anything but settled.
In Mexico, Antonelli claims his first World Championship and becomes the youngest champion in Formula 1 history. After seventy-three years, Italy is back on top of the world: the story of a milestone that spans generations.
