With the LBX Morizo RR, Lexus introduces a high-performance derivative of its compact SUV, making substantial changes to the powertrain, chassis and driving dynamics. The project marks a break from the standard LBX, abandoning the hybrid architecture in favour of a purely combustion-powered configuration focused on performance.
Powertrain: G16E-GTS and dedicated transmissions
The heart of the model is the well-known 1.6-litre turbo three-cylinder G16E-GTS, already used in high-performance models in the Toyota group. In this application it delivers 304 hp and 400 Nm, figures that place the LBX Morizo RR at the top of the category for power-to-weight ratio.
The engine is paired with an all-wheel drive system with variable torque management. Two transmissions are available:
6-speed manual (iMT) with rev-matching function,
8-speed Direct Shift automatic, designed to optimise response times and power delivery continuity.
This is a significant step for Lexus, which introduces a manual gearbox on a production model for the first time.
Lexus LBX Morizo RR: performance and dynamic target
The declared performance indicates 0-100 km/h in about 5.2 seconds, a figure in line with a typical configuration of hot hatches from a higher class. Top speed has not been officially disclosed, but the model’s positioning suggests a dynamic target focused more on responsiveness and control than on outright top speed.

Chassis and setup: structural changes
The basis remains the GA-B platform, extensively revised to handle the increase in power. The changes include:
structural stiffening of the chassis,
specific suspension and steering settings,
introduction of the REDS (Response-Enhancing Damping Structure) system on the front axle, which improves dynamic response by reducing vibrations and delays in load transfer.
The aim is to increase turn-in precision, stability and the quality of feedback at the wheel.
Components: tyres, wheels and braking system
The technical package is completed by:
19” forged wheels,
235/45 R19 high-performance tyres,
uprated braking system, sized for intensive use.
These elements help improve mechanical grip, fade resistance and consistency of response in high dynamic conditions.
Aerodynamics and thermal management
The styling changes meet functional needs. The front end and air intakes have been redesigned to:
increase airflow towards the radiators and intercooler,
improve stability at high speeds,
optimise the thermal management of the powertrain.
The result is a more aggressive body, but above all one that is more efficient in aerodynamic terms.
Bespoke Build version: limited production
Alongside the standard version, a special “Bespoke Build” series is planned, limited to 100 units. The model offers further customisation options and is intended for a selected clientele through a dedicated procedure.
