Ferrari ends the current 499P season at Monza and aims to send off the prototype with a victory before the updates planned from 2027.

Ferrari arrives at Monza with one clear thought: try to finish in front of its home crowd in the final round for the 499P in its current configuration. The Lombardy round marks the farewell to the prototype as it stands today, while from 2027 the Maranello project will enter a new phase with three updates already scheduled to relaunch the challenge in the Hypercar class.
The 2026 season, for Ferrari, has been more complex than the previous one. The 499P has collected a single victory, secured by the #50 of Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen at COTA. Toyota, meanwhile, has already claimed the Constructors' title in Barcelona in the first weeks of November, while the #50 has moved ahead of the #51 in the Drivers' standings after the Catalunya round. There is still room at Monza for a strong finish, with Ferrari still in the running to improve its position in the world championship standings.
The home weekend also takes on a special value because of the setting. Fuoco and Giovinazzi met the fans in Milan, at Stazione Centrale, with the 499P on display in Galleria delle Carrozze. The second Italian race of the season comes after Imola and for Ferrari the pull of the crowd matters a great deal. "This is a special race for us, for Ferrari and what we want is to bring home the victory on Sunday," Giovinazzi told Motorsport.com.
Fuoco is already looking further ahead, without taking his eyes off Monza. "Certainly the 499P has given us so many emotions over these years, saying goodbye to it after Monza will be a disappointment," Fuoco told Motorsport.com. The message from the pits is the same: finish well now and then focus on the work for the new 2027 car, with the aim of arriving at the next phase of the programme with a stronger car in every respect.
