Raúl Fernández and Fermín Aldeguer have received medical clearance for the Qatar Grand Prix and will be able to race throughout the weekend at Lusail. The check came from the championship medical team at the Qatari international circuit, without the need for another visit after FP1.

For Fernández the assessment concerned the right index finger, fractured in the Indonesia Sprint and already checked at Lusail. For Aldeguer, meanwhile, the medical clearance closes the recovery process after the fracture to the base of the first metacarpal of his right hand sustained in Indonesia: the Gresini rider returns so to the track after missing Australia and Malaysia.

The news comes on the Qatar Grand Prix weekend, a MotoGP 2026 round taking place at Lusail. According to Motorsport.com Italia, Fernández and Aldeguer have been given fitness clearance for the entire weekend, while for other riders the situation remains different: Jorge Martín will be able to take part in FP1, but will then have to undergo another medical check.

Fernández arrives at this round after a series of difficult steps in the recovery process. In Malaysia he had already received another verdict of unfit after trying to return to the track, but at Lusail the picture has changed and Trackhouse Racing will be able to count on him for the whole GP.

Aldeguer's return

For Aldeguer, the comeback coincides with a return to work after the crash on the second lap of the Indonesian GP. After the operation and recovery, the Spanish rider has been declared ready to return to action in the Qatari weekend, with confirmation also coming from the team BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP on its social channels.

At Lusail, then, the grid gets two big names back in full physical condition. Both will have the green light for the entire Qatar Grand Prix, an important step in a stage of the season in which every presence on track carries a great deal of weight in the chase for weekend results.
